Today I started the implementation of my new strategy: to diversify my travel and rest more frequently from the bicycle :) Since I arrived very close to Lima - the capital of Peru - I decided to take a bus there, and leave the bicycle in Tarma! This way I will continue the 'tradition' to pass some time in the capitals of visited countries (with the exception of Bolivia where I did not go to Sucre, although La Paz plays partially the role of the capital). The close distance, however, was misleading. The journey to Lima (200 km) took about 9 hours! This is typical here - the high mountain roads are narrow and often under renovation...
