The atmosphere and the food are also different

Distance 87 km (cum. 7,054 km); Ascent 916 m (cum. 53,594 m). I hope I will get used to the high altitudes! Today I climbed to 3,750 m and then descended to 3,500, to a small town Abra Pampa, called proudly 'the capital of the Puna'. It was really tough! I got a headache almost immediately after starting in the morning. This region is completely different from the rest of Argentina! There is almost only indigenous people, speaking the local dialect. The villages are more populous than in the centre or in the south, there is more children, but also more problems with alcohol, use of children for work, etc...
