Finally I crossed to Peru!

Distance 60 km (cum. 8,455 km); Ascent 384 m (cum. 64,012 m). Finally I crossed to Peru! I stopped in Juli, approximately half-way to Puno. The first impression is that it's not very different from Bolivia, except that people seem more friendly... In the afternoon there were hundreds of pupils of the local school marching with a brass band... This love of uniforms and public playing marches is a big thing, especially in Bolivia and most likely in Peru... I think it possibly relates with the ancient traditions of doing everything outside and together, that were somehow inhibited by the brutal Spanish dominance and later evolved into this overwhelming brass band omnipresence...
