Distance 68 km (cum. 5,177 km); Ascent 1,064 m (cum. 36,857 m). We arrived in Domeyko, a village commemorating a XIX century geologist who helped Chile developing it's mining industry and the education system. He was a very interesting person. He was born in a Polish-Lithuanian noble family when Poland was occupied by Russia. During his studies he was involved in the independence movement and had to leave the country to seek refuge in France. He continued his studies there and moved to Chile where he did his important contribution :)
