Poster (in English) presented at the International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and Other Tick-Borne Diseases

Last conference focused on tick-borne infections I participated in and presented my work. At this time, I was about to leave my position at the National Institute of Hygiene in Warsaw, and I did not start any new projects in this field… This poster was the result of a huge effort to organise and improve surveillance of Lyme borreliosis initiated in Poland in 1998. We documented that when starting a new surveillance system it is very difficult to disentangle surveillance artifacts (gradual deployment in country regions of diagnostic instruments, improving knowledge on the disease and on surveillance) and true increases of disease risk nationwide... We gathered a huge dataset and we planned many other investigations, but unfortunately we never made it :(
