Poster (in English) presented on the annual meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID 2009)
Several members of our team from the National Institute of Hygiene in Warsaw attended this ESPID conference, which is always a great learning experience, and presented four posters. This paper summarized a simple analysis comparing tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) cases registered among children and adolescents and cases among adults. We did not find anything surprising, mostly confirming that pediatric cases have milder symptoms. However, it is worth analysing surveillance data, which are valuable addition to results of observational studies. This analysis was not published elsewhere.
